School Years (Optional)

So here are the American/French/English School Years. (Written in that order)

Grade 4 - CM1 - Year 5 : 9 to 10 years old.

Grade 5 - CM2 - Year 6 : 10 to 11 years old.

Grade 6 - 6e - Year 7 : 11 to 12 years old.

Grade 7 - 5e - Year 8 : 12 to 13 years old.

Grade 8 - 4e - Year 9 : 13 to 14 years old.

Grade 9 - 3e - Year 10 : 14 to 15 years old.

Grade 10 - Seconde - Year 11 : 15 to 16 years old.

Grade 11 - Première - Year 12 : 16 to 17 years old.

Grade 12 - Terminale - N/A : 17 - 18 years old.

I don't know if that's the case in the US and in the UK, but the French can stay back a year if they don't work hard enough, and can skip a few years if they've worked too hard. So in France, students do not necessarily correspond to the average age-range of the year you're in.
